Integrated Home Backup for the Jackery 5000 Plus Series

The Jackery Smart Transfer Switch connects a compatible Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus home backup system with selected household circuits, allowing the system to automatically provide backup power when utility power is interrupted.

Designed for 120V/240V split-phase residential electrical systems, the Smart Transfer Switch supports up to 12 load branches and provides automatic transfer to compatible Jackery backup power within 20 milliseconds.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity also enable compatible monitoring and energy-management functions through the Jackery system.

Jackery 5000 Plus Compatibility

The Jackery Smart Transfer Switch is designed for use with the Jackery 5000 Plus Series.

It enables compatible Explorer 5000 Plus systems to supply selected household circuits through an integrated home-backup installation.

This product should not be assumed compatible with other Jackery Explorer models simply because they provide 120V or 240V AC output.

Before purchasing, verify that your intended Jackery system and home electrical configuration meet Jackery's compatibility and installation requirements.

Automatic Backup Power

When installed with a compatible Jackery 5000 Plus system, the Smart Transfer Switch can automatically transfer selected household circuits from utility power to the connected Jackery backup system when an outage occurs.

Jackery specifies a transfer time of 20 milliseconds or less.

This allows compatible household loads to transition rapidly to backup power during a utility interruption.

A ≤20ms transfer specification should not be interpreted as a 0ms online UPS. Equipment requiring specialized or truly uninterrupted power protection should be evaluated according to the equipment manufacturer's requirements.

12-Circuit Home Integration

The Smart Transfer Switch supports up to 12 load branches, allowing selected household circuits to be incorporated into the Jackery backup system.

Which circuits should be connected depends on:

Solar and Home Energy Integration

When paired with a compatible Explorer 5000 Plus system, the Smart Transfer Switch can form part of a home energy system incorporating compatible Jackery battery storage and solar charging.

Solar panels do not connect directly to the Smart Transfer Switch.

Compatible solar equipment connects through the applicable Explorer 5000 Plus solar-input system. The Smart Transfer Switch manages the connection between the compatible Jackery backup system and selected household electrical circuits.

Solar generation and available backup duration depend on the connected Jackery equipment, battery capacity, solar configuration, household loads, environmental conditions, and other factors.

Professional Installation Required

The Jackery Smart Transfer Switch connects to a home's electrical system and should be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with Jackery's installation instructions and all applicable electrical codes and regulations.

Jackery recommends coordinating installation through its installation process and trained installation professionals.

The Smart Transfer Switch uses a NEMA Type 1 enclosure.
